'Okkadine' Movie Rrview:
Nara Rohit 'Okkadine' has finally released today after considerable delay and Nithya Menen movie is like heroin. Srinivas Raga has directed this film and the producer CVReddy. The music of the film has been composed by Karthik. Let's see how "Okkadine 'is.
Main Story:
Shailaja (Nithya Menen) is the daughter of a wealthy businessman named Shivaji (Sai Kumar). She comes home to India for a holiday and heads for a resort near Vishakhapatnam, owned by Sreenu Mama (Nagababu), to relax for a few days.
She meets Surya (Nara Rohit) exists and falls for his family. Love blossoms between them and slowly she reveals his intentions to his father Shivaji, approving. The story takes a turn at this point and Shailaja realizes that everything she has experienced is an illusion.
Surya reveals that Shivaji has another side to him and now the story becomes a revenge drama. Shailaja now has to choose between his father and Surya. What side is she chose? What is the other side of Shivaji?
That way Okkadine history.
Positives:
Nara Rohit did his best to save this movie, but there is not much you can do when you are severely limited by a poor script and terrible direction. He has done a decent job in the action sequences. Nithya Menen looks cute and adorable.
Naga Babu is good and his brief fight in the second half with a sickle is one of the very few good moments in the film.
Negatives:
The film suffers from a terrible script and there are terrible outtakes in the film. A dead body kills the main villain in the climax fight. Yes, you read that right. A dead body is used to kill the main villain in the climax. What was the motive behind this scene? There are plenty of other ways that could have been the villain exterminated if the director did not want the hero to do.
The placement of the songs from the film leaves much to be desired. The theme song 'Puttintollu Tharimesaru "and a popular song are massive speed switches. None of the songs really make an impression.
The family scenes involving Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sudha, Rohit and Nithya are very superficial and seems a bit much at times. There is a strong conviction and emotional scenes that end up making the audience angry.
Artists Kota Srinivasa Rao veterans, Sai Kumar, Bannerjee, Srinivasa Reddy etc have been wasted in silly roles. Brahmanandam has been given very bad characterization as Sodhan investigative journalist. Ali does not make an impression as a thief.
Technical elements:
Andrew has led the camera for the film, but the film is surprisingly mediocre. The editing is very poor and about 20 minutes could have easily been cut from the film. The dialogues are very average.
Srinivas Raga direction leaves much to be desired. The production values are very mediocre.
Final Word:
Okkadine revenge saga is a poorly executed. Nara Rohit and Nithya Menen have made every effort to do some damage limitation but have been frustrated by a very bad script and poor direction.
RATING : 2.5/5
